UK Takeover Deals Worth £21 Billion in First Quarter

Corporate dealmaking has picked up sharply by value despite the war in the Middle East rattling global sentiment. Broker Peel Hunt counted 13 live bids worth £21 billion in Q1 2026, more than double the £9 billion recorded across 15 bids in the same period last year. Both corporate and financial buyers have stayed active across the FTSE.
