UK rents to rise 4-5% by year-end as mortgage rates bite
Higher mortgage rates are forcing more aspiring homeowners to stay in rented accommodation for longer, increasing demand. Zoopla, the property website, anticipates that annual rent growth will hit 4% to 5% as 2026 concludes. Average monthly rent in the UK hit £1,340 in July, up from £1,327 in February.
