UK races to bring 300,000 Britons home amid Gulf airspace closure

Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the UK is exploring all options to bring home British nationals stranded across the Middle East. Around 300,000 British citizens are estimated to be in Gulf countries targeted by Iran, with 102,000 having registered with the Foreign Office. More than a third of UK flights to the region were cancelled as airspace remained largely closed. The government urged all British nationals to register their presence with the FCDO immediately.
