UK power plant hacked, but security rules wait until 2030
Last month's cyber-attack took a small gas generator offline for four days without affecting the wider electricity grid. Under current government plans, Ofgem, the industry regulator, will not force these local sites to meet tougher safety targets before the end of 2030. The Liberal Democrats called this long delay an unacceptable risk to national security as global threats grow.
