UK Government Faces Increased Scrutiny with Surge in Questions

Key Whitehall departments faced nearly double the number of questions from MPs and peers in 2025 compared to the previous year. One MP notably submitted 342 questions in a single day. Another MP for Huntingdon, submitted 150 questions. Current rules allow MPs to submit up to 20 written questions electronically each day. Some attribute the increase to the use of AI.
