UK gives Ukraine 1,000 Belfast-made missiles in £500m deal

The Ministry of Defence confirmed on 12 February that the UK will provide Ukraine with over £500 million in air defence missiles and systems. The package includes 1,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles manufactured in Belfast under a £390 million deal, and a first-ever £150 million contribution to NATO's Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List. Defence Secretary John Healey announced the package while co-chairing the 33rd Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting in Brussels, attended by 50 nations. A further 1,200 missiles and 200,000 artillery rounds are also planned for delivery.
