UK EV Rule Changes May Add Emissions

More carbon pollution could be released and drivers may cover billions of extra miles using petrol and diesel vehicles under existing policy changes. Campaign groups and charging firms urged the UK government on 6 June not to make further adjustments to electric car sales requirements after changes introduced in 2025. Estimates point to 17 million tonnes of extra carbon dioxide by 2030, linked to 59 billion additional miles.
