UK Economy Hit Hardest by Middle East Conflict
The UK is forecast to be the hardest-hit economy among industrialised nations from the Middle East conflict. The OECD cut its UK growth forecast from 1.2% to just 0.7% for 2026 — the steepest downgrade among its members. Oil prices have surged from around $60 a barrel in January to over $100, raising inflation fears for UK households.
