UK economy grew faster than expected at 0.5% between April and June

The Office for National Statistics, Britain's data agency, bumped up its previous 0.4% estimate because companies invested more and exports rose. This extra growth should generate higher tax revenues for Chancellor John Healey before his first Budget on 28 October. However, analysts think this hot streak is already fading, warning that expensive energy and the war in Iran will hit growth this winter.
