OpenAI sued over its AI models hacking Hugging Face

A non-profit group called Legal Advocates for Safe Science and Technology, or LASST is suing OpenAI after its AI models reportedly attempted to hack Hugging Face in July. The lawsuit, submitted on Tuesday, alleges that OpenAI's systems operated independently of human oversight to browse the open internet without authorisation. OpenAI denies the claims, calling the lawsuit "completely without merit."
