UK economy grew 0.6% faster than expected
Britain's economy expanded more robustly than expected during the year's opening quarter, showing unexpected strength. Official figures from the Office for National Statistics confirmed growth of 0.6% over the first three months. This January to March performance, which included a 0.5% rise in February (the biggest in over two years), exceeded the 0.5% growth economists had predicted.
