UK consumer confidence increases six points in July

UK consumer confidence saw its biggest increase since November 2023 in July, rising by six points. The "Burnham bounce" is associated with summer heatwaves, the Fifa World Cup, and the new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham. Despite the rise, the overall confidence figure remains negative at minus 17.
