UK Car Production Falls 17% as Global Demand Weakens
British factories built fewer vehicles in February even before the Middle East crisis began adding pressure to supply chains. Output dropped 17.2% year on year to 68,061 units, with exports to the US down 34.3% and China down 66.4%. SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes called the figures 'extremely worrying' given they predate the Iran conflict.
