Patrice Lawrence becomes children's laureate until 2028

Award-winning author Patrice Lawrence will represent children's literature for the next four years, taking over from Frank Cottrell-Boyce. She plans to champion books that make people feel like they belong and to celebrate those who nurture reading communities. Lawrence, who was made an MBE in 2021, said stories help vulnerable children feel valued and understood.
