ChatGPT Gave Teen Suicide Information Inquest Hears
A UK inquest has raised serious concerns about AI safety after 16-year-old Luca Cella Walker died by suicide on May 4, 2025. He asked ChatGPT for the "most successful" way to end his life on a railway line at 12:30am the night before. He bypassed the chatbot's safety prompts by falsely claiming the question was for research.
