Starmer names Murray as new health secretary
Chief Secretary to the Treasury James Murray has been appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, hours after Wes Streeting resigned from the role on Thursday. The Ealing North MP, a soft-left Labour figure who previously served as Deputy Mayor of London for Housing under Sadiq Khan, was defending Streeting on BBC Radio 4 this morning before the resignation unfolded.
