Two men stranded 10 minutes rescuing dog from ice

On Sunday afternoon, a dog fell through ice at Connaught Water, Epping Forest. A man trying to rescue the animal also fell in. A second man then entered the water to assist. Both were stuck for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Emergency services arrived around 2:20pm. Paramedics treated the men; one was transported to Whipps Cross Hospital. The dog was saved and returned to its owners. Essex Fire and Rescue advises against entering frozen water.
