Snap partners with Qualcomm to finally release AI-powered glasses later this year

Snap announced a partnership with chipmaker Qualcomm to power its long-awaited augmented reality glasses, called Spectacles, which are expected to launch later this year. The glasses will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR platform, a system-on-a-chip designed specifically for AR and VR devices, as part of a multi-year agreement. Snap has been developing Spectacles for over a decade and earlier this year spun off a separate company focused entirely on the product.
