Turns out AI is rinsing the UK's electricity

Communities are showing resistance as datacentres' electricity use reaches significant levels. New research by the International Data Center Association finds UK and US datacentres now consume 6% of their countries' electricity supply. This global energy consumption has increased by 15% in the past two years, largely driven by artificial intelligence.
