Tube Drivers Announce Eight Christmas Strikes

London Underground drivers will stage eight 24-hour strikes from late November into February over four-day week plans, the RMT said. Dates are 26 November, 17 and 19 December, 4 and 6 January, then 17, 23 and 25 February. The union says drivers face longer shifts and weaker protections; Transport for London says the scheme is voluntary and cuts hours overall. Spring walkouts closed some lines.
