Childminder Jailed After Leaving Over 20 Children Alone

Childminder Amanda Mathewson was jailed for two years at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court after leaving more than twenty children alone at her Dunfermline home, including two babies under one. Licensed only for eight, she was caught when parents secretly watched her leave on a school run in August 2024 and found unsupervised children crying inside. Sheriff John MacRitchie called her conduct a gross abuse of trust.
