New ovarian cancer drug approved for 400 women
Hundreds of women in England with advanced ovarian cancer can now get a new life-extending drug, the first in over 20 years. NHS England approved mirvetuximab soravtansine, a targeted therapy, after NICE recommended it for patients whose cancer resists chemotherapy. This new treatment helped patients live 16.5 months on average, compared to 12.8 months with standard chemotherapy.
