Trump rejects UK carriers, warns Starmer over late support
President Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday that the United States did not need the two aircraft carriers the UK was preparing to send to the Middle East, writing that the country did not need people who join wars after they had already been won. The post came after the UK Ministry of Defence confirmed HMS Prince of Wales was being placed on high readiness at Portsmouth for a possible deployment. Trump also told reporters the offer had come too late, adding it would have been welcome two weeks earlier.
