Trump paused Iran strikes: US bases lack defensive missiles

The president cancelled weekend military operations after 13 consecutive nights of combat, creating a window for diplomatic talks. At a Friday meeting, JD Vance, the vice-president, warned that American bases lack enough defensive interceptors to protect troops from further barrages. The pause comes shortly after an incoming ballistic weapon bypassed air defences in Jordan and killed three US soldiers.
