President Trump posted on Truth Social that US forces "destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian naval ships, some of them relatively large and important," vowing to target the rest. However, CENTCOM independently confirmed only one vessel - a Jamaran-class corvette sunk at Chah Bahar pier in the Gulf of Oman. Satellite imagery confirmed smoke rising from the naval base. Trump also claimed Iran's naval headquarters was "largely destroyed." The number nine has not been independently verified by US military or third-party sources.
