US President Donald Trump reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in December that Washington would support Israeli military action against Iran’s ballistic missile programme should negotiations with Tehran fail. The comments, made during a private meeting at Mar-a-Lago, came as a fresh round of US-Iran nuclear talks approaches. While the US continues to pursue diplomacy, discussions about potential military cooperation and logistical aid for Israel are said to be underway.
