Train drivers threaten strikes after being left without access to working toilets
The Aslef train drivers' union says members are deliberately dehydrating themselves to avoid needing a break, with many forced to use bottles. Train operators agreed to new welfare rules last summer guaranteeing toilet access within four hours, but the rail regulator warns improvements have stalled. Bus and lorry drivers in the Unite union are fighting the exact same lack of roadside stops.
