Toddler Screen Time Impacts Development, Social Skills, Creativity
Excessive screen time is negatively impacting toddlers' development. UK research indicates that many four-year-olds struggle with basic skills like holding pencils or speaking in complete sentences due to early screen exposure. Teachers observe decreased creativity, problem-solving abilities, and hand-eye coordination. Increased individualism and difficulties in social interaction are also noted. Ninety-eight percent of UK two-year-olds watch screens daily, averaging over two hours, while nearly 40% of three- to five-year-olds use social media.
