TikTok to pay US $400m for child privacy law breach

TikTok has agreed to pay $400m to the US to settle a lawsuit claiming it broke child privacy laws. The Department of Justice filed the 2024 suit, alleging TikTok collected data on millions of users under 13. The TikTok settlement is one of the biggest ever for child privacy violations in the US.
