Swiss tennis star Stan Wawrinka has retired after losing his final match in front of a home crowd at the Swiss Indoors in Basel. The three-time Grand Slam champion was beaten by eighth seed Jiri Lehecka in straight sets, ending a 23-year career. Wawrinka won the Australian Open, French Open and US Open, often beating the sport's biggest names, and called Basel an ideal ending.
