Third US heat dome to affect 70 million people
Southern and central US states are experiencing dangerously hot temperatures, with approximately 70 million residents expected to be under excessive heat advisories. The third significant "heat dome" occurrence in the US over the last month brings temperatures reaching 95-105F (35-40C). High temperatures are predicted to persist into next week, with certain regions possibly seeing highs of 120F (48C).
