Tenerife Declares Emergency Over Storm Therese's 100km/h Winds
Tenerife residents must avoid unnecessary travel, as an island-wide emergency has triggered widespread closures and activity suspensions due to impending severe weather. The Cabildo of Tenerife activated its Insular Emergency Plan today, Wednesday, March 18, from 3 pm in anticipation of Storm Therese. Wind gusts are predicted to reach up to 100 kilometres per hour, alongside over 300 litres per square metre of rainfall and snow.
