Teen driver gets suspended sentence for injuring pensioner in Watford crash

Mohammed Khan, 18, was speeding at around 60mph in a 30mph zone when he crashed into Peter Jeffree's stationary car on Stratford Way. Mr Jeffree, 74, sustained three fractured vertebrae, cracked ribs, and a cracked sternum in the collision last September. Khan admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and received a 19-month suspended sentence, a three-year driving ban, and 250 hours of unpaid work.
