John Healey quits, criticises Starmer over defence cash
John Healey, a senior minister, quit Keir Starmer's government on Thursday after a long-running disagreement about armed forces funding. In his letter, Healey said Starmer and the Treasury weren't committing the cash needed to defend the country against increasing threats. He warned the proposed Defence Investment Plan, meant to boost spending, offered just a 0.08 percent uplift on current levels.
