Sharaz Ali was convicted at Doncaster Crown Court for killing Bryonie Gawith and her three children in a revenge attack on August 21, 2024. The 40-year-old set fire to the Bradford home where his ex-partner Antonia was staying after she ended their abusive relationship. Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her children Denisty Birtle, 9, Oscar Birtle, 5, and 22-month-old Aubree Birtle died in the blaze. Co-defendant Calum Sunderland was found guilty of manslaughter.
