Families face 119-year wait for social housing
Families in England could wait 119 years for a social home at the current building rate, meaning generations might stay homeless. Housing charity Shelter found over 1.3 million households are on waiting lists, but only 12,198 new social homes were built last year. This means about 110 households are waiting for every single new social home delivered.
