Starmer warns leadership challenge would bring chaos

A Labour leadership contest could cause 'chaos' for the party, according to Sir Keir Starmer and his allies. Starmer warned ministers and MPs about this after heavy local election losses, amid speculation Health Secretary Wes Streeting is preparing a challenge. Streeting's supporters expect a challenge soon, but he needs 81 MPs to trigger a contest under Labour rules.
