What is a 'leadership challenge'?
A 'leadership challenge' in politics refers to an attempt by members of a party to replace their current leader. If Andy Burnham were to become Prime Minister and his leadership faltered, some Labour MPs might see David Miliband as a potential alternative. This highlights the constant internal dynamics and potential rivalries within political parties.
