Starmer urged to limit unsafe apps for teens

Children could lose access to apps with features campaigners say encourage harmful online habits. The NSPCC, Molly Rose Foundation and Smartphone Free Childhood asked Keir Starmer to restrict under-16s from platforms failing strict safety checks before the government's consultation ends. Groups opposing a blanket ban said apps should remove infinite scrolling, disappearing messages and push notifications as ministers weigh new online rules.
