Starmer: Closer EU Ties Are in UK's National Interest

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has signalled that the UK could align more closely with the EU single market on a sector-by-sector basis, saying closer European ties are in the country's long-term national interest. He described Brexit as having caused "deep damage" and announced plans for a UK-EU summit this summer to pursue new ground in economic and defence cooperation.
