Mitchell Starc recorded career-best figures of 7-58 to bowl England out for 172 on day one of the first Ashes Test at Perth Stadium. The left-armer struck with the first ball and secured his 100th Ashes wicket. However, Australia's reply faltered dramatically as England's pace attack reduced them to 123-9 at stumps, trailing by 49 runs after 19 wickets fell on an extraordinary opening day.
