Spirit Airlines closes, all flights cancelled immediately
Thousands of passengers face cancelled flights and refund uncertainty after Spirit Airlines ceased operations. Spirit Airlines announced an immediate wind-down of operations on Saturday after it couldn't get a $500m rescue deal from the Trump administration. The budget airline, already in its second bankruptcy, pointed to higher jet fuel costs as a reason for its collapse.
