Spain snatch late winner to set up France semi-final

Spain reached their first World Cup semi-final since winning the tournament in 2010, beating Belgium 2-1 with a goal two minutes from time in Los Angeles. Substitute Mikel Merino, who also settled the Portugal tie late, pounced after backup goalkeeper Senne Lammens spilled a shot, on a night when Belgium lost captain Youri Tielemans in the warm-up and Thibaut Courtois to injury. Spain now meet France on Tuesday for a place in the final.
