Doctors' union to cut a third of staff

The British Medical Association, a doctors' union, is planning to cut up to a third of its 600 staff in England to deal with a major cash crisis. This move has caused anger among staff, who accuse the BMA of hypocrisy, especially after resident doctors recently accepted a pay deal. The union has been losing millions annually despite record membership, needing £86.8m in subsidies from its British Medical Journal since 2008.
