Southern Water releases PFAS chemicals in Solent affecting 650,000 people.
The presence of "forever chemicals" in southern England's Solent creates a long-term risk for health and nature. New research conducted by the Marine Conservation Society and the University of Portsmouth has identified the widespread presence of these enduring chemical substances across the Solent's marine habitats. Two Southern Water facilities, providing for around 650,000 people, released many PFAS compounds into the environment.
