SNP wins 58 seats, John Swinney becomes First Minister
Almost half of the Scottish Parliament's elected members are new, bringing significant change to Holyrood. The Scottish National Party secured 58 of 129 seats, remaining the dominant force, and John Swinney won the vote to be re-appointed First Minister. Reform UK and Scottish Labour each returned 17 MSPs, tying for second place.
