China allows 30-day visa-free trips for UK citizens

China allows 30-day visa-free trips for UK citizens

Starting 17 February, passport holders from Britain and Canada can enter mainland China without a visa. The new rule permits stays of up to 30 days for holidays, business, or seeing relatives until the end of December. This decision follows Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s meeting with President Xi Jinping in January to improve trade ties. Official figures show around 620,000 British people visited the country in 2024.
