Six people including three teenage boys were arrested after fireworks and bricks hit police and fire crews on Bonfire Night in Meadow Well, North Tyneside. Officers were hurt; five police cars and three fire engines were damaged. Disorder followed false asylum-housing rumours; owners say the site will be a supermarket with flats. A fire chief called it the worst he has seen in 33 years.
