Singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka died on 27 February 2026 at the age of 86 after being taken to a Los Angeles hospital by ambulance that morning. His family confirmed his death in a statement describing his passing as sudden; a cause of death was not disclosed. Sedaka had three Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits and 30 songs on the Billboard singles chart across a career spanning the early 1960s and a mid-1970s revival. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and held a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
