Holi: What is the Festival of Colours and where to celebrate in London

Holi is an ancient Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Falling on 4 March 2026, it is marked by throwing brightly coloured powder called gulal, music, dancing and feasting. Rooted in the legend of Prince Prahlad, it is celebrated across the Indian subcontinent and worldwide. London hosts numerous events, including London Ki Holi at Hainault Skate Park on 7 March, a Holi Boat Party on the Thames, and the Holi Colour Dance Festival at Swiss Cottage on 8 March.
